Be first when a pitch frees up
When a trader cancels, their pitch goes to whoever books it first. We email you, but a notification on your phone arrives in seconds. Setting it up takes about a minute and costs nothing.
- Open thetorcollective.co.uk in Safari. It has to be Safari, not Chrome.
- Tap the Share button, the square with an arrow pointing up out of it.
- Scroll down the list and tap Add to Home Screen, then Add.
- Close Safari. Open the new icon from your home screen.
- Sign in, then tap Turn on notifications at the top of the page and choose Allow.
Step 4 is the one people miss. On an iPhone, notifications only work when you open the site from the home screen icon. Opened in Safari they will never arrive, however many times you tap Allow.
- Open thetorcollective.co.uk in Chrome.
- Tap the three dots menu, then Install app or Add to Home screen.
- Sign in, then tap Turn on notifications at the top of the page and choose Allow.
On Android notifications work in Chrome without installing, so you can skip step 2 if you would rather. Installing just means it opens like an app and loads faster.
Questions people ask
- Is this an app I have to download?
- No. It is our website with an icon on your home screen. There is nothing to get from the App Store or Play Store and it takes up almost no space.
- Do I still get the emails?
- Yes. Nothing changes about those. The notification just gets to you faster.
- What will it say?
- Which pitch has opened and at which market, with a link that takes you straight to booking it.
- How do I turn it off?
- In your phone's settings, under notifications, find the Tor Collective icon and switch it off. You can also mute them from your account settings.
- I am not on a waiting list yet.
- Open the market you want on the booking page and add yourself to the list for it. You will only hear about markets you have asked about.
